This week was also good for me! We have a mission conference with Elder Holland this Friday so in preparation I printed off 17 of his last conference talks, read them and marked them all up. Uh, that was one of the best decisions of my life. I LOVE his talks and it's cool reading so many from him at once! I want to do it with all the apostles now! I learned a lot this week and my testimony has grown too. Some of my favorite Elder Holland talks are "Safety for the Soul", "Lord I Believe" "The First Great Commandment" "We are all enlisted" "None were with him" "The cost-and blessings-of discipleship" "My words...never cease".....I could go on forever. If you ever get the chance, read an elder Holland talk, you won't be disappointed.

L and S and still doing well! L is kind of going through some trials, but he still is looking forward to baptism.

Everything is going well here in Connecticut!

Have a great week!

May 5, 2014

Great news! Our investigator Ls, who has been waiting for First Presidency permission to get baptized, just received his letter!!!!! Everyone is SO excited for him! His baptism will be on June 28. He is so happy. He had a final interview with our mission president yesterday to make sure he is still baptism worthy (he is) and we have everything planned out! The only thing we're missing is the closing hymn.

I have a piece of triumphant news! We're having a Mother's Day activity in our branch on Saturday. Everyone is preparing skits and songs for the activity. Sister H and I decided to do a song and if you would believe it, I WROTE a song....in SPANISH! It's a funny song though. The jist of the song is that we're suffering being without our moms. We'll record it and I'll send a translation. I think it will be pretty funny! I'm excited!

The work here is going really well. We are in the process of preparing 2 baptisms. One for S and one for L. We're also focusing a lot on the less active and part member families on our branch. We're working closely with our branch president to make sure we're doing everything he needs us to do. We've been very busy lately! We also went on exchanges with our Sister Training Leaders. It was a good exchange! We both learned a lot from it. We also had transfer texts! But Sister H and I are both staying here, nothing crazy to report. We also have a mission conference this month that everyone is excited about. Apparently someone cool is coming. When President Packard first announced it at last transfer meeting, he said,  "Basically, you should all be wondering which apostle will be coming." We're really excited! Most people are betting on Elder Holland, but we'll find out soon! A lot of people think that we'll be getting ipads too, but I don't think so.

So speaking on the theme of my year mark, I made this horrible realization that I only have 5 transfers left. I'm one of the lucky ones though, because most sisters only have 6 months left when they hit a year, but I have 7! Ha ha ha ha! I can't believe how fast the time has gone, it seems like yesterday I was in the MTC. For the last week, I've been trying to remember what I was doing a year ago. The only thing I remember though is the Macklemore concert and getting set apart. Hahaha Do you guys remember what we did a year ago today? I think we had a family day. But holy cow, ONE YEAR! The time goes by fast. These next 7 months will go by fast too.

Love you lots!

April 28, 2014

This week was pretty uneventful to be honest. We've been working a lot with the ward members. This branch is a little dysfunctional so we're helping everything to find a common vision and be more unified. We had a great dinner with out Branch President last night about some goals we can set to make the branch more unified. We have another appointment scheduled with them to create a plan! We also have a baptismal date for the May 31st! S is getting baptized and she's pretty excited about it! She still has a few reservations, but we're helping her work through them and see that this is the Lord's will for her.

I love you guys a lot! Keep being awesome and have a great week!
